Creativity.
Sure, there's a creative quality to all of the design process. But for me, a lot of the creativity comes into fixing something that should work, and in thinking about what will work in the future, almost moreso than it comes into putting pen to paper or pixel to screen. Before you can design, you have to know what you're trying to build.
